Beyond Opera 10.0

Although it released Opera 10.0 to web the past week, Opera Software continues to move forward with the browser. And fact is that the Norway-based browser maker still has to make good on its promise to reinvent the web with the Opera Unite project. Continuing from the finalization and general availability of Opera 10.0, Opera Software has now made available for download a fresh development milestone of Opera 10.10 with Unite.

Users should be aware of the fact that although Opera 10.0 has been finalized and is offered to the general public, Opera 10.10 with Unite continues to be in development. “This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all,” revealed Tommy A. Olsen, from the Opera Desktop Team.

With the availability of the latest Opera 10.10 with Unite release, testers will be able to enjoy a range of improvements across all aspects of the browser. In this regard, indications are that enhancements cover everything from bug fixes, to user interface improvements, to work poured into perfecting Opera Unite.

“As promised, we would release 10.10 builds with Unite enabled. These builds are simply a continuation of 10.0, with more bug fixes, plus Unite. Focus is still stability and minor improvements,” Olsen added. “The bundled Unite services are currently undergoing some design improvements, but this hasn't made it into today’s builds. This build does however have many fixes to the Unite webserver, which will improve connectivity for many. Stay tuned for more.”

And in case there are any questions on what exactly Opera Software is offering users, the answer is rather simple. Opera 10.10 with Unite is essentially Opera 10.10, the release superseding Opera 10.0, with Opera Unite integrated.

Opera 10.0 Final Build 1750 is available for download here. The latest release of Opera 10.10 with Unite is available for download here.
