14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has released Office for Mac 2011 version 14.0.2, an update to the newest release of Microsoft’s productivity suite for Mac OS X. The update brings improved reliability when accessing Office for Mac through third-party applications, fixes problems with Microsoft's AutoUpdate program, and improves stability for Outlook 2011.
“Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Office for Mac 2011,” the company states. “This update provides the latest fixes to Microsoft Office for Mac 2011.
"Additionally, this update contains improvements to stability and reliability.”
On the Support area of its web site, Microsoft weighs in on the purpose of Office for Mac 2011 version 14.0.2, by listing the improvements for all Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 applications:

Office for Mac Updater request users to close Microsoft AutoUpdate during the update process.
This update fixes an issue that causes Office for Mac updater to request users to close AutoUpdate when the Office updater is running. When the users close AutoUpdate, the updater also stops the Office update process.
As for Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011, the Windows makers note that stability is now improved by fixing an issue that causes Outlook to crash or close unexpectedly when users import a .pst file that contains categories that have no category names assigned to them.
Notably, the Outlook integration is probably the most important addition in Office for Mac 2011 - a first for the Mac version of Microsoft’s productivity suite.
Outlook is described by Microsoft as being “the all-in-one application for e-mail, calendars, contacts, and tasks.”
Users can collapse multiple e-mail threads into one quick view, see all their inboxes in a single view, and manage their workload from virtually anywhere.
The ability to instantly preview email attachments resembles that of Mail on the iPad.
