Soldak Entertainment has released a new patch for players of its action-RPG game for Mac OS X, Depths of Peril. The patch brings the game to version 1.015 and delivers a bunch of fixes for issues reported since the latest patch release. A list of changes in the latest (beta) patch can be found below. Depths of Perils boasts a unique blend of action RPG and strategy gameplay, offering players the ability to become the leaders of one warring faction fighting for supremacy.

Soldak Entertainment claims to have made Stats::increaseStat a bit safer from overflows, while gamers can now give food/potions to people from other covenants if adventuring with them. Now, recruits from other covenants keep their bonuses after death and kidnapping quests are now a bit easier, according to the developer. Fixes incorporated in this beta patch are listed below.

– fixed Cuastic Grotto spelling; – fixed localization issue on vendor and bookshelf screens; – fixed Ember Necklace not localized correctly; – fixed next target command; – fixed treasure map quests to not get out of range of the world; – fixed a rare item drop crash on Mac; – fixed fire mastery not effecting Spontaneous Combustion correctly; – fixed sweepingflames, ice storm, chain lightning, ball lightning mastery issues; – fixed a way npcs could potentially get stuck casting.

Besides the full (paid) version of the game, Depths of Peril is also available as a demo on both Mac and PC. According to Soldak Entertainment, the demo allows players to explore only the first part of the world and to play through just a part of the storyline. Gamers will most likely endeavor buying the full version to play through the rest of the storyline, explore the full world of Depths of Peril, fight many more monster types, find and collect thousands more item types, meet and destroy new covenants and improve their characters up to level 100.

Soldak Entertainment notes that Depths of Peril requires a PowerPC or Intel 1.5 GHz processor, 128MB RAM, GeForce 2 (or other equivalent), and 150MB of hard drive space. Recommended specs are a 2.0 GHz processor (PowerPC or Intel), 256MB RAM, GeForce 3 or better (or equivalent).

This patch will only work with the full purchased version of the game from Soldak's web site – the retail version, and the Manifesto version. The patch is not compatible with the Reflexive (also known as gamecentersolution), Arcade Town, TotalGaming.net/Impulse, Gamer's Gate, Mac Game Store, or Steam versions of the game.
