Agile Web Solutions has updated 1Password, the company’s password manager and form filler for Mac OS X. The update delivers several bug fixes and tweaks and can be downloaded right here, on our website.

1Password is a password manager and form filler for Mac OS X and iPhone. The solution is designed to remember all the online passwords that a user inserts on any web page or form, anytime, by using one single (master) countersign. The desktop version of 1Password integrates directly into most browsers (Firefox, Camino, OmniWeb, DEVONagent, NetNewsWire, as well as Apple's own Safari), and sports built-in, anti-phishing and keylogger protection. Using the app, Mac owners can easily manage hundreds of passwords with one key.

The iPhone version of the software also adds some new stuff, including a database Backup & Restore option in the settings. The mobile sidekick can be downloaded for free from the App Store, using the link at the bottom of this article.

With the release of 1Password 2.9.21, Agile Web Solutions has replaced the .1report extension with plain old .html for Diagnostic Reports; updated the Switch to Agile Keychain window to make it clear what the password is for; added the ability to specify a reminder hint; updated Registration Required prompt; fixed a rare 1Password freezing problem that could happen on launch; made search no longer include item UUIDs in the search criteria. Fixes include: a problem where the contents of the Sync Conflict Resolver Window was empty in some cases; a memory leak in Safari extension; a missing localization of several strings.

1Password for Mac OS X starts at $39.95 – Single User license. A Family license costs $59.95. 1Password is licensed on a per-person basis (a single license can be used by one person on as many Macs as they can afford), in order to reduce 1Password's total cost of ownership. By using the links below, one can update to the latest version, try out 1Password for free in demo mode, or buy a copy of the software. 1Password requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). It is a Universal Binary application, suitable for both Intel-based Macs and PowerPC machines.
