Tapbots is releasing its newest applications for iPhone and iPad customers proudly calling itself a member of the App.net community. The company has also finished Tweetbot development on the Mac and has submitted the binary to Apple.

Tapbots assures visitors of its blog that “if you love Tweetbot and are on App.net, you’ll want Netbot.”

App.net is a new social network akin to Twitter that uses 256 characters and features an ad-free environment.

The Tapbots team says they’ve been working very closely with App.net, adding that “Their goals of always putting users first resonates with what we believe at Tapbots. Even though App.net is currently a small network, we expect big things from them and are proud to be a part of the community,” the company says.

App.net is described as a real-time feed that acts as “a home for meaningful conversation.” Users get to control their entire data (unlike with Facebook), find the apps they love, “connect, play, and discover.”

“They are very much committed to making the best user experience possible for the end user, without focusing on needs of advertisers or corporations,” says Tapbots.

The company offers some brief highlights of its Netbot application (reproduced below).

◆ Smart Gestures. Use App.net more efficiently with time-saving and configurable gestures. ◆ Sync timeline position, direct message read statuses and mute filters between iPhone and iPad via iCloud. ◆ Customizable Navigation. Hide the navigation tabs that you never use. ◆ Support for multiple services like Pocket, Instapaper, Readability, CloudApp and Droplr. ◆ Save drafts, attach photos/videos, manage your accounts, and much more.

Additionally, Tapbots reportedly submitted their Tweetbot application to the Mac App Store for approval. We’ll let you know when it pokes its head out. In the meantime, download Netbot for iOS at the links below.
