NVIDIA Quadro Release 259.81 WHQL Drivers ready for download

As you're probably quite well aware by now, in order to enhance the overall experience delivered by its products, NVIDIA periodically upgrades the drivers running them, and this time around, we're talking about the Quadro series of GPUs targeting the professional segment.

So, NVIDIA has just issued the QUADRO driver release 259.81 WHQL, that brings quite a lot of interesting developments, but before moving on to that topic, we'll mention that you can get the update from right here on Softpedia, whether you're running Windows XP (download here), Windows XP x64 (download here), Windows Vista/7 (download here) or Windows Vista/7 x64 (download here).

The new upgrade provides support for the newly announced Quadro 6000, Quadro 5000, Quadro 4000, Quadro 2000 and Quadro 600 GPUs, while in the same time adding support for CUDA 3.1 for improved performance in GPU Computing applications.

Additionally, the QUADRO driver release 259.81 WHQL adds support for OpenGL 4.0 and DirectX 11, while also featuring a new page for GPUs that support ECC (error correction code) that lets you Change the Error Correction Code (ECC) state for GPUs.

Another interesting feature worth mentioning is the EDID Management, available from the View System Topology page, that lets you view the connector information, get an EDID from a connected display and save it to disk, force an EDID at a connector or remove a forced EDID from a connector.

The update also delivers support for the Open Computing Language (OpenCL) 1.0 in Quadro FX Series x700 and newer as well as the FX4600 and FX5600, and for the NVIDIA SLI technology (two-way SLI) for DirectX 9, DirectX 10, and OpenGL on SLI-certified Intel X58-based motherboard based system from select OEMs.

Finally, the device provides support for DDC-Ci/MCCS over the DisplayPort AUX channel, as well as 10-bits per color (10bpc) DisplayPort support for full-screen applications on supported products.
