In addition to finally releasing the mainstream-level GeForce GTS 450 video board, NVIDIA has finished the latest driver version for the Quadro line of professional adapters, the Quadro Driver Release 259.57.

NVIDIA has just announced the newest software specifically designed for its line of professional graphics products, the new driver version that supports its latest Quadro cards.

Known as Quadro Driver 259.57, the new installment does several things, from adding support for new technologies to expanding the overall feature set.

For instance, the latest Quadro 6000, Quadro 5000 and Quadro 4000 models are all compatible with the driver.

Also, the software enables support for OpenGL 4.0 and DirectX 11, while also making sure GPU computing applications can benefit from the CUDA 3.1 technology.

Overall, programs that leverage GPU computing should be able to run a significant bit more smoothly now.

Another asset of the driver comes in the form of a new page that deals with the support that some GPUs have for ECC (Error Correction Code).

End-users will now be able to view GPU memory details, as well as change the ECC state of the graphics processor.

Furthermore, the View System Topology page will allow owners of the boards to perform EDID management.

Among the possible operations are viewing connector information, forcing and EDID at a connector, remove said forced EDID and even get an EDID from a connected display and save it on a disk.

Other features include a SDI Capture page in Windows Vista and Windows 7, plus workstation application compatibility fixes.
