Not long ago, NVIDIA released its latest driver for the GeForce and ION series of graphics adapters, and it looks like its professional adapter line saw a software update of its own.

There was much to be said about the graphics card market, but there are some things that always hold true, or have held true for the past years.

One of them is the fact that both NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices periodically update their product drivers (the software components of their graphics solutions).

Of course, considering that they have multiple types of adapters and integrated chips, they have to maintain multiple distinct driver packages.

In this particular instance, it is NVIDIA that is making the news, having completed the 275.89 WHQL version of its Quadro driver.

As updates are supposed to, the package contains new features and, of course, bug fixes.

For one, professionals will be able to take advantage of the OpenGL path rendering API (allows for high-quality text and 2D rendering with OpenGL applications).

Another asset is the G-Sync, which synchronizes the back buffer of Direct3D applications across multiple GPUs in one or more systems. This works for both multi-window and full-screen applications.

NVIDIA also added support for 10-bit Grayscale through DVI for Windows 7, as well as a revision to ‘Adjust Desktop Size and Position’ page in the control panel.

Furthermore, the NVIDIA WMI windows service allows clients to monitor GPU temperature, fan speed and other parameters.

As for the fixes themselves, some adjustments have been made to workstation application compatibility.

Users that own one of the many NVIDIA Quadro graphics adapters on the market need only follow one of the links below to get the new driver.
