14 DAY TRIAL // Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA has recently updated its support for professional graphics users by releasing a new driver for its line of Quadro graphics cards. The new Quadro Driver 186.30 release is now available for download and is WHQL-compliant, providing users with support for a number of new applications. In addition, it expands the support for the chip maker's Quadro cards, enabling more users to take advantage of their performance levels.
NVIDIA's line of Quadro graphics cards has been specifically designed to meet the performance requirements of professional users and workstation systems. These cards are generally more expensive than their consumer counterparts and are made available with a specifically designed driver for workstation environments and applications. The most recent release from the chip maker comes to provide users with support for some of the latest Quadro FX, Quadro CX and Quadro NVS products available on the market.
In the new Quadro Driver release 186.30 WHQL-certified drivers NVIDIA has included a number of updates, and among them there’s support for CUDA 2.2 for improved performance in GPU computing applications and a number of workstation application compatibility fixes. In addition, the new release:
Expands GPU hardware acceleration for the NVIDIA Video Encoding library to GPUs with less than 32 cores. Applications using this library include CyberLink PowerDirector 7, Nero Move it 1.5, Loilo SuperLoiloScope MARS, and CyberLink MediaShow Espresso.
Accelerates performance in workstation applications
Available for download right here on Softpedia, the drivers also include support for single GPU and NVIDIA SLI technology, DirectX 9, DirectX 10 and OpenGL 3.0 APIs, as well as support for DDC-Ci/MCCS over the DisplayPort AUX channel and the addition of 10-bits per color (10bpc) DisplayPort support for full-screen applications on supported products.
