Late last week, NVIDIA announced that Redmond, Washington-based software giant Microsoft had validated a new suite of graphics drivers that would provide users of GeForce graphics products with support for the new
DirectCompute technology, available in the upcoming version of Microsoft's operating system, the much-anticipated Windows 7. On that note, the graphics chip maker has just released the new suite of drivers, providing its customers with new features and a number of bug fixes. The drivers are now
available for download through the links below, but be sure to check out some of the details on what is included in the new solutions.
According to the release notes of NVIDIA's new GeForce 190.62 WHQL-certified driver package, users of GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100 and 200-series desktop GPUs will be able to take advantage of the support delivered for the latest PhysX gaming titles, namely Batman: Arkham Asylum and Darkest of Days. In addition, the new package also includes the PhysX System Software version 9.09.0814 and several bug fixes.
In addition, the new series of graphics drivers, the GeForce 190 release, includes support for OpenGL 3.1, NVIDIA's CUDA 2.3 for improved performance in GPU computing applications, a couple of new panel features and numerous bug fixes. It also brings fixes for several of NVIDIA's GeForce cards, ranging from the 6-series to the most recent 200-series. It's recommended that users who have encountered issues with their GeForce cards check the release notes of the new set of drivers, as these can provide them with details on whether a fix has been found yet.
