It would appear that NVIDIA, world-leading maker of graphics solutions for both the consumer and enterprise markets, has provided a new, beta driver release from the Release 265 family of drivers.

Since new hardware and software comes out on a regular basis, especially for mobile computers, it falls to makers of PC platform to constantly update their drivers.

Basically, the likes of, in this case, NVIDIA had to do was deliver an updated driver suite in order to add support for certain features on laptops using a wide variety of GPUs.

The Driver Release in question is the 267.24, part of the 256 family of drivers, which includes versions 265.xx to 269.xx.

That said, the list of supported graphics processors includes the Quadro 5000M, ION, Quadro NVS (DirectX 10 or higher) Quadro FX (also DirectX 10 or higher) and a bunch of GeForce.

To be more specific, the GeForce processors for which this driver is intended are those from the 8M, 9M, 100M, 200M, 300M and 400M series.

That said, for machines running the Windows 7 operating system, the release will improve compatibility with Dragon Age II, add SLI support for Homefront and fix an issue that might cause the NVIDIA control panel to not be accessible on the desktop.

For Windows Vista and 7, the software will do the same, plus add 3D Vision support for Bulletstorm, meaning that realism and immersion will be enhanced for those that have 3D panels and the obligatory glasses.

Other things that the driver does is install new versions of PhysX System Software (9.10.0514) and HD Audio driver (1.1.13.1).

Those that want either version of the software need only follow one of the links below.
