It wasn't too long ago that we wrote about the new AMD Catalyst graphics driver and, now, NVIDIA has finally finished its own latest software package, called GeForce 296.10 WHQL.

Since that time of the month is upon us, NVIDIA has released the newest version of the software meant to go hand in hand with its GeForce graphics adapters.

We also have to mention that NVIDIA completed a driver for the demo of Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system as well.

We won't write about it here, though. That will come in its own time.

Instead, we will now focus on the benefits of the 296.10 WHQL driver, especially for people who like to play the most recent games.

Titles should run better in general, especially Diablo III, Mass Effect 3 (2x increase) and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (45% boost), but computers with more than one card in SLI configuration will get the best deal.

For those who want a list, the SLI performance is optimized in the following games:

Blacklight: Retribution – up to 1.8x performance increase DiRT 3 – updated DX11 profile to improve menu performance Dishonored Dungeon Defenders F1 2011 – improves performance with game patch 1.2 rFactor 2

In addition to the above, the driver fixes many bugs and updates PhysX System Software to version 9.12.0213. Furthermore, the GeForce GT 560 SE GPU will now be supported.
