The time of the month has come for NVIDIA to deliver a new and improved version of its graphics card driver software, the GeForce 280.26 version, complete with WHQL certification.

NVIDIA, much like its rival Advanced Micro Devices, releases a new driver for its graphics adapters once every month, as well as on special occasions, like when a new video board appears.

This once, it is a release of the former type that the Santa Clara, California-based company has carried out.

Then again, there is a certain element of this newest release that sets the new driver apart from most before it.

Basically, some motherboards powered by AMD chipsets (990FX, 990X and 970) will be able to hold and run SLI multi-GPU configurations.

Of course, this one feature is not all that NVIDIA has to offer, what with gamers being a segment of the worldwide consumer base under close supervision.

3D Vision was the technology that saw its usability extended beyond its previous confines, with new monitors, projectors and game profiles added to the list of supported products.

Quite a number of games now have 3D Vision profiles, meaning that they can be played in 3D, provided users own such a monitor with support for the display mode.

For ease of use, the 3D Vision Controller driver is now included with all GPU driver installations, so that one need not install a separate one.

Owners of an NVIDIA GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, 400 or 500 series video board need only follow one of the links below to start the download of the appropriate driver version. ION GPUs are also supported by the software.
