New WHQL-certified GeForce Release 182.50 drivers also available

After having released its highly anticipated GeForce GTX 275 graphics card, the Santa Clara, California-based graphics chip maker NVIDIA has just rolled out its latest GeForce drivers. However, unlike previous occasions, NVIDIA has now posted two new GeForce Driver releases, namely the WHQL-certified 182.50 and the BETA version of the company’s upcoming drivers, GeForce Driver release 185.65. Both versions of these drivers deliver support for the company’s latest desktop graphics cards and provide a number of fixes and performance increases.

 

First off, we’ll take a look at the new WHQL-certified GeForce Driver release 182.50, designed to support NVIDIA’s GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9 and 200-series of graphics processing units. According to the company, the new drivers provide optimized single GPU and SLI support for the upcoming PC games, numerous bug fixes, which are detailed in the documentation notes and a number of performance increase in several 3D applications, including some of the latest gaming applications currently available on the market.

 

However, you could probably skip the WHQL release and upgrade directly to the latest Beta drivers, as these will enable you with support for NVIDIA’s latest card, the GTX 275, and a number of new features and performance increases. According to the release notes of the new GeForce Driver Release 185, users will be able to take advantage of the support for CUDA 2.2, the new GeForce Plus Power Pack #3 and a series of performance boosts over the company’s previous GeForce Driver release. Up to 5% performance increase in Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts

Up to 22% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with antialiasing enabled

Up to 11% performance increase in Fallout 3 with antialiasing enabled

Up to 14% performance increase in Far Cry 2

Up to 45% performance increase in Mirror’s Edge with antialiasing enabled
