One week after NVIDIA had released the Beta version of its latest GeForce 182 video drivers, the Santa Clara, California-based graphics chip maker introduced a WHQL-certified version of the new drivers, coming in the form of the fresh GeForce 182.06. As expected, the GeForce driver release offers support for NVIDIA's GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9 and 200-series of desktop GPUs, so there's a high chance that your own graphics card will take advantage of features provided by this release.

According to the release notes of the fresh WHQL-certified GeForce Driver 182.06, users of NVIDIA graphics cards will see an improved performance in gaming application F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, as well as performance increase in other 3D applications. Apparently, the release enables performance increases over those achieved by Release 181.22 WHQL drivers. Depending on the GPU, system configuration and game settings, NVIDIA GeForce users might see performance increases on some of the following applications:

Up to 8% performance increase in Fallout 3 at high resolution and AA.

Up to 10% performance increase in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

Up to 9% performance increase in Half-Life 2 at high resolution with AA.

Up to 11% performance increase in Left 4 Dead at high resolution with AA.

Up to 10% performance increase in Race Driver: GRID at high resolution and AA.

In addition, the new release will provide users with full support for OpenGL 3.0 on GeForce 8-series, 9-series and 200-series GPUs. The drivers also include NVIDIA's PhysX System Software version 9.09.0203.
