14 DAY TRIAL // Mozilla has deployed the latest update for beta testers of its popular web browser on Mac, Windows, and Linux computers, Firefox 29 Beta 9. In usual manner, the latest update arrives with a slew of tweaks and fixes, mostly under the hood.
Targeting users on all supported desktop platforms, Firefox 29 beta 9 addresses an issue that causes fullscreen videos on Netflix to appear black, improves password syncing, puts Bing back in the list of default search engines, fixes Yahoo search tags and Bing search tags, etc.
Several other issues are also addressed, though their description is quite cumbersome and difficult to put into words for the general population to understand. Not that they’d care, since regular users shouldn’t fiddle with beta versions of Firefox in the first place. As for those who make it their business to test the browser for bugs, here’s the full changelog.
The requirements remain in place: 64-bit processor; 512 MB RAM, 200 MB hard drive space, these being the minimum specs for Mac users. Windows users require a Pentium 4 or newer processor that supports SSE2.
