This week, Microsoft made available for download a new flavor of its System Center Monitoring Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Cross Platform, namely version 6.1.7000.297.

The new release arrives with updated support for Solaris 11 and AIX 7, after being enhanced with support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6 in August last year. It offers support for both x32 and x64-based systems, Microsoft notes.

Through this pack, system administrators can find it easier to discover, monitor and manage computers based on Linux, while using the same interface that they access when it comes to the management of Windows machines.

The tool comes with support for Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows XP, and it requires System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 to operate.

The latest version of the System Center Monitoring Pack is available for download from Softpedia via this link.
