Recently, Microsoft made available for download a new version of its adCenter Desktop, namely 8.5.10357.0, which stands for the April refresh of the tool.

Through it, customers can more easily manage their adCenter campaigns, while also being able to make various changes to them.

The tool was made available for download for free, and offers features such as account management when offline, the availability of live performance alerts, or the option to research keywords.

The utility enables customers to edit all levels of their account via an easy-to-use interface, while providing them with the possibility to publish the changes at their convenience.

Through the various adCenter Desktop features, management of Bing, Yahoo! Search, and Content Ad campaigns is easier than before, Microsoft notes.

The release notes for the latest iteration of adCenter Desktop show that the import capabilities of the tool have been enhanced.

Here’s what Microsoft notes on the matter: Now it’s even easier and faster for you to import campaign data to adCenter using the Desktop tool. This month, enhanced import functionality now allows you to:

- Assign and save column headings to data sheets during import. Saved heading assignments can be reused for future imports of similar files. - Quickly identify file formats using auto-detect to cut down on time when importing files.

In addition, the new version of the tool enables customers to target locally, through implementing Radius Targeting, thus being able to focus ads to a 5–100-mile radius around a business address. They can also set radius targets for business locations for a given campaign or ad group.

“To use this feature, simply navigate to Targeting under the editor pane via either the Campaigns or Ad Groups tab. Select the “Near a business location” option, and then set the radius target to between 5–100 miles using the drop-down menu,” Microsoft explains.

“Business locations are inherited from adCenter. You can add new business locations via the adCenter web UI, and then sync your Desktop tool with the adCenter web UI to have the locations available in Desktop.”
