A new resource made available for download for free by Microsoft is designed to give customers the chance to prepare for Microsoft Project 2010 and Microsoft Project Server 2010. Microsoft Project 2010 Ignite (a.k.a. Quick Start 2010 Training) went live on the Microsoft Download Center on June 2nd, 2010, and offers no less than 11 Microsoft Project 2010 Ignite videos. “The recordings above represent a total of 8.5 hours of valuable recording available at your fingertip that you should all watch (5.5 hours of presentation and 3 hours of product demonstrations),” Microsoft revealed.

There are no less than 12 .ZIP archive downloads, but the focus is on 11 training sessions. Project 2010 Ignite offered a range of Enterprise Project Management 2007 partners the chance to attend a three-day Instructor-led training program. However, since the events were invitation-only, customers that did not get to attend can now turn to the downloads offered by the Redmond company.

“Each module is conveniently delivered using a Silverlight player that gives you the ability to view the presenter and the slides as the same time as well as give you a chapter breakdown and full transcription of presentation. Please note that the primary goal of the Ignite content was to enable technical readiness prior to launch, focusing specifically on what’s new with respect to EPM 2007, hence we highly encourage you invest in training for a successful implementation of this exciting release of Microsoft Project 2010,” the software giant stated.

The videos for Microsoft Project 2010 Ignite are also available online, however, the downloadable modules make sure that the content is also available in offline scenarios. The Redmond company is also offering for download the PowerPoint documents used during the presentations.

Microsoft noted that, “The recordings included in this download are:

“- Introduction; - Planning, Design, and Deployment; - Upgrade and Migration; - Demand Management; - Portfolio Strategy; - Timesheets and Statusing; - Reporting, Part 1; - Reporting, Part 2; - Administration; - Operations; - Development/Extensibility; - Conclusion.”
