Earlier this week, Microsoft made available for download a new flavor of its Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Software Development Kit (SDK).

Released as version 5.0.12, the new flavor of the package comes with an updated assembly, namely Microsoft.Xrm.Client.CodeGeneration.dll, as well as with a bug fix for the Xrm.PageScriptProjectTemplate.

The package was made available for download with support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008, and requires Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 to be installed on the targeted computer.

Microsoft has released this package (which contains the complete software development kit for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011) to help developers, system customizers, and report writers in their work.

For those who have never had the chance to download and install the SDK, we should note that it comes with all the necessary information for developers to write server-side code, as well as custom business logic, workflow assemblies, plug-ins, and integration modules.

“It provides an architectural overview of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the entity model, security model, and Web services,” Microsoft explains on its download website.

“Sample code and walkthroughs are provided to guide you through the new features. It also contains information for developers customizing the Web client or Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook, including scripting, integration of custom Web pages, and lots of sample code.”

At the same time, the Redmond-based company explains that, beside the aforementioned documentation, the software development kit also comes with assemblies and tools that developers require, as well as with helper code for authentication.

Moreover, it includes Microsoft Visual Studio projects for all sample code that can be found within the available documentation, along with a visual style guide that can be used for making customizations easily fit in.
