Microsoft has just made available for download the Microsoft AppFabric 1.1 for Windows Server Caching Best Practices Analyzer (BPA) Tool.

The new utility, available for download from Softpedia as well, via this link, was designed to compare the existing cache cluster configuration and settings to a set of recommended best practices that was predefined.

The tool can be downloaded and installed on systems running Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2. It can be installed on both x86 and x64 machines.

The Microsoft Baseline Configuration Analyzer (MBCA) 2.0 needs to be installed on the server and on computers on which you want to initiate BPA scans (it is available for download on this page).

Additionally, the AppFabric 1.1 Caching BPA tool can be executed only from machines that have Cache Administration feature of AppFabric 1.1 installed and configured.
