An updated version of the MetroTalk application is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone 8 devices, namely version 3.4.0.0.

This is the best-rated Google Voice app for Windows Phone, and the latest release comes with enhancements that should make it even more appealing.

MetroTalk 3.4.0.0 arrives on Windows Phone 8 with a new interface for the Call/Text page, one that also comes with support for T9 dialing.

At the same time, the application added support for multiple accounts, with push notifications for all of them, the release notes unveil.

Starting with this release, users will also be able to automatically configure push notifications on Gmail accounts. Furthermore, they will have the option to manually configure these settings for non-Gmail accounts (e.g. Outlook).

The new app iteration also comes with a new setup wizard, designed to automatically configure the application, as well as with an “international filtering” calling method.

Other changes in the new release include a series of security improvements, which are complemented by a fix for a UI issue where lists would occasionally fail to display all items.

MetroTalk for Windows Phone was designed with performance and user experience in mind, the developers behind it explain.

The mobile client comes with support for push notifications so as to ensure that users will be instantly receiving SMS messages and voicemail, even at times when the app is not active.

The mobile software is available for download for Windows Phone 8 devices with a price tag of $1.99 (€1.50) attached to it. However, users will also be able to try it for free.

“The trial/free version is ad-supported, and comes with all the features of the full version. However if you enjoy using MetroTalk, we strongly suggest upgrading for further supporting future development,” the app’s description reads.
