MapQuest 4.0 is out for iPhone and iPad with a redesigned interface to match iOS 7, and useful features like traffic conditions, bookmarking, sharing, road alerts, and more.

MapQuest now offers sharper detail and is much easier to read, thanks to a few visual tweaks which also make the app more worthy to be on iOS 7, according to its creators.

Traffic conditions can now be followed on route. For example, the road turns red (for heavy traffic) or yellow, to keep you informed of live traffic conditions.

Custom bookmarking allows you to save addresses for easy directions the next time you’re headed that way, and road alerts show you toll roads and seasonal road closures.

With the new sharing features, you can tell others where you are, while the auto mute option lets you turn off voice-guided directions. An updated search engine is also available.
