Users of AOL’s navigation app MapQuest are being notified to update to version 3.4.2, which includes fixes for crashes and other bugs.

A provider of free voice-guided, turn-by-turn, GPS navigation for iPhone users, MapQuest eliminates the need to buy expensive gear (not that the iPhone in your pocket was a bargain) and “speaks to you, telling you when and where to make a turn,” according to its makers.

The latest version (MapQuest 3.4.2) delivers a blow to some annoying bugs, including one that would crash the app when creating a route or starting navigation.

Not everyone has experienced this issue, but those who have are encouraged to download the latest version to address this flaw. Some miscellaneous bug fixes are also included.

MapQuest is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad, and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
