Mailplane users should be aware of the latest update from developer uncomplex gmbh, which has issued the latest beta version of the app. The application brings Gmail to Mac users' desktops, and is touted as the perfect tool for those in love with both the Mac, as well as Google's mail client. Unfortunately, there is no changelog for the latest version of Mailplane as of yet.

Mailplane allows users to attach files, send optimized photos, instantly send screenshots and pictures from iPhoto, store passwords in keychain, perform downloads, and more, all backed by the built-in sound-notification system, or Growl. Besides these features, the app brings Google Mail's SPAM protection, endless storage and global access, and the UI friendliness of one's Mac.

An iPhoto plugin allows users to send pictures from iPhoto by selecting their images and pressing the email button. Just like any mail app, Mailplane can be set to play a sound when new items arrive, and to show the number of unread messages in the application icon.

The latest documented version of Mailplane (2.0.10 Build 989) reveals that the software has undergone only a few maintenance tweaks, while adding improved Spanish and Chinese localization. According to the changelog for Build 989, uncomplex gmbh made the following changes to its Gmail-fetching application:

· updated Spanish and Chinese (Tranditional & Simplified);
· renamed executable file back to "Mailplane" as the Video Chat plugin now recognizes Mailplane;
· fixed possible crash when unhiding the main window;
· fixed issues where command-Shift-D didn't archive if you had the "Send and Archive" lab feature enabled;
· fixed an issue where Send/Save/Discard commands didn't work correctly with enabled "Send & Archive Gmail lab feature;
· disabled Gmail keyboard shortcuts warning didn't work – the issue has been fixed in this release;
· Google Apps accounts were signed out when using Gmail lab features Doc/Calendar Gadgets – the issue has been addressed in this release.
