Download Mac OS X 10.7.1 Lion

Apple has rolled out an incremental update for users of Mac OS X 10.7 addressing general operating system issues enhancing the stability and compatibility of Macs running Lion.

According to a number of technical notes posted on Apple Support/Downloads, “The 10.7.1 update is recommended for all users running OS X Lion and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability and compatibility of your Mac.”

The 10.7.1 release - available in separate packages for different systems - contains specific fixes for an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari; a bug that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical audio out; a problem with transferring data, settings, and compatible applications to a new Mac running OS X Lion; an issue causing intermittent display flickering on MacBook Air; and an issue that causes the SD card slot in Mac mini to run at reduced speed with SD and SDHC media.

In addition to these enhancements, Mac OS X 10.7.1 also improves reliability of Wi-Fi connections.

The update is localized in Deutsch, English, Français, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Dansk, Norsk Bokmål, Polski, Português, Português Brasileiro, Pусский, Suomi, Svensk, Albanian, Arabic, British English, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonia, Malay Malaysia, Montenegro, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

As noted above, there are separate releases of this update, including Client and Server, for different versions of Macintosh computers.

For example, while most Macs will be served up a typical OS X 10.7.1 weighing in at 79.29 MB for the Client version and 88.26 MB on the Server side, others will be getting a 68.86 MB build (for 2011 MacBook Air and Mac mini models) and a 78.11 MB package that targets Mac mini Server computers from 2011.
