Linus Torvalds announced last evening, June 8th, the second Release Candidate of the upcoming Linux 3.5 kernel.

Linux kernel 3.5 RC2 contains updated drivers, fixes for x86 and PowerPC architectures, IRQ, timer and scheduler fixes, fixes for FUSE, EXT4, UBIfs, and CIFS filesystems, as well as some documentation updates.

"Ok, it's been only 6 days, but as noted earlier I'm going to be traveling starting tomorrow, and I wanted to make the -rc2 release before I left."

"That said, I think -rc2 is in fairly good shape, and I've been trying to fairly aggressively revert things that caused problems (and sometimes things that were only *suspected* to be the cause of problems)." - said Linus Torvalds in the email announcement.

Download Linux kernel 3.5 RC2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it is intended for testing purposes only.
