Amazon has released an updated version of its e-reading app for iOS customers, Kindle for iPhone and iPad. Version 3.7 targets the visually impaired.

A new set of accessibility features is available in Kindle 3.7 for iOS, making it “easier for blind and visually impaired customers to navigate their Kindle libraries, read & interact with books, and more,” according to Amazon.

Users need to enable VoiceOver on their device to begin using the features.

Ebook fans can now easily rate and review books by accessing “Before you go...” directly from The “Go to” menu, while the “Before you go…” menu includes the ability to download a free sample, as well as email a reminder to yourself about recommended books.

Japanese customers get an additional font selection – Hiragino Mincho ProN (Serif). Finally, the update includes some bug fixes and stability improvements, as usual.
