14 DAY TRIAL // Windows Vista is at the center stage of this month's patching process, containing two Critical vulnerabilities, courtesy of IE7 and Windows Mail and one Moderate flaw, all on its own, out of the total 15 security holes patched by Microsoft with the company's monthly patch cycle scheduled for June 12, 2007.
"This month's update contains 6 advisories with a total of 15 patched vulnerabilities. Major apps for this month were once again IE and Outlook/Windows Mail, coming in with 6 and 4 patched vulnerabilities respectively. This month we also see updates for file-based attack vectors against Visio, remotely exploitable vulnerabilities in both a dev library and a security package patched, and a fairly low profile information disclosure vulnerability in Vista dealt with," revealed Ben Greenbaum, Symantec Security Researcher.
According to the availability of the six security bulletins, Microsoft has also released for download June 2007 Security Releases ISO Image, a DVD ISO containing all the updates for the Windows platform. And as this month all 15 security vulnerabilities are connected to the various supported versions of the Windows operating system, all six security bulletins can be downloaded via the 2118.9 MB ISO image.
