Microsoft insists on pushing ahead with what has become nothing short of tradition: making available for download customized versions of Internet Explorer. The company did it with Internet Explorer 7, and now it is doing the same with Internet Explorer 8. The latest custom version of IE8 RTW is associated with Live Nation. Obviously, the Redmond company is laboring to boost the volume of downloads of its latest iteration of Internet Explorer. The IE8 Live Nation optimized variant of the browser follows another special version, which was designed to help feed hungry Americans.

In this regard, Microsoft has associated the IE8 optimized for Live Nation with Nikelback. Via the IE8-Nickelback, the Redmond company is inviting users to “rock out the Internet.” But the software giant is also ready to sweeten up the deal. End users who download the Live nation custom IE8 RTW get a tad more than just the bits for the successor of IE7.

“Get an exclusive unreleased track from Nikelback when you install this special edition of Windows Internet Explorer 8. Plus, get access to Nikelback webisodes and online content,” reads a message posted on the website, designed to inform end users of the additional incentives that come with the IE8 optimized for Live Nation.

Microsoft is offering two variants of the browser. First off, the company offers a standalone download of Internet Explorer 8 for users who don't have the latest version yet. At the same time, the software giant isn't ignoring current IE8 users. For them it has prepared a special upgrade edition of the release. The company is targeting only users of Windows XP and Windows Vista. In the eventuality that you are using Windows 7 RC you are missing out. The IE8 version included in Windows 7 will be finalized concomitantly with the operating system by the end of July 2009.

Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) RTW is available for download here (for 32-bit and 64-bit flavors of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008).
