HitmanPro has been updated to a new build, 3.6.2, and brings to the table a hefty suite of modifications. These include new features as well as fixes and improvements.

New for this release is support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. Also, HitmanPro can now scan and clean registry entries for other user profiles available on the system. Furthermore, potentially unwanted programs (PUP) can be detected (default action is set to “ignore”) and you can apply actions to the threats belonging to the same family or classification.

The current revision includes detection of malware that hides the source executable filename from process memory.

Improvements refer to detection of ransomware deployed through LNK files, scoring on executables that require rights elevation as well as handling Volume Boot Record (VBR). The full list of modifications is larger than this and can be viewed on this page.
