Players of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on iPod touch experiencing lag, hangs or crashes may want to look into the 1.2 update from Rockstar Games. It’s said to improve stability on fourth-generation devices.

Featuring updated graphics, character models and lighting effects, new firing and targeting options, custom controls with a fully customizable layout, iCloud save game support, Retina display compatibility, and custom iTunes playlists, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is available on iOS ten years after its debut on Windows PCs.

In the time it’s been available on iPhone and iPad, Rockstar has issued some updates to improve players’ experience, and this time is no different.

Version 1.2 is now downloadable from the App Store with fixes that improve stability on the iPod touch 4th generation. A bunch of “assorted bug fixes” are incorporated as well.

The game still requires iOS 4.3 to play but has been optimized for the newest Apple gear, including the iPhone 5 and iPad mini.
