An updated flavor of the Google Goggles application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices out there, namely version 1.9.3.

The new application iteration was released mainly to resolve issues that users have been reporting with the previous release, and fixes a bug that caused the camera not to close properly on some phones.

With Google Goggles on their Android devices, users can search for information by simply taking a picture of what interests them in the real world.

“Point your mobile phone camera at a painting, a famous landmark, a barcode or QR code, a product, or a popular image. If Goggles finds it in its database, it will provide you with useful information,” the app’s description reads.

You can find Google Goggles for Android listed on Softpedia. The application can recognize text in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Turkish, and can also translate it into other languages.
