Google today offers a new version of its Fiber app, which lets you control your entire TV experience from an iPhone or iPad. Google Fiber 3.0.0 brings enhanced grouping and sorting of TV episodes and movies, a cast & crew screen, support for launching and controlling third-party apps, and more.

“Find and discover TV shows and movies that are airing live, recorded on your DVR, and available on-demand,” says Google in promoting its entertainment app. “What's more, browse, buy and watch your favorite on-demand content on your iOS device. Requires a subscription to the Google Fiber TV service (currently only available in select areas).”

Google Fiber version 3.0.0 features enhanced grouping and sorting of movies and shows, adds a new cast & crew screen with filmographies and bios, the ability to launch and control third-party TV apps like Vudu, Netflix, and YouTube, a switch to power the TV on or off via HDMI-CEC (which requires TV support), and some improvements to the user interface, along with the usual bag of fixes.

Localized in over a dozen different languages, Google Fiber 3.0.0 requires iOS 6.0 or later and supports Phone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad second generation, iPad third generation, iPad fourth generation, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display, iPod touch fourth generation, and iPod touch fifth generation.
