A new flavor of the Google Earth application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based smartphones, namely version 7.1.1, which brings along a nice range of new features.

One of the most appealing of them is the addition of Street View to the app, which provides users with the possibility to explore the world at street level.

However, other enhancements are also available for Android users, including improved search functionality, along with better directions and a streamlined interface.

“Google Earth's 3D imagery has always been a great way to immerse yourself in the world. With the addition of Street View to Earth for Android, you can now check out the world from the street level too,” Google notes in a post on Google+.

“Simply zoom into an area you'd like to explore and Pegman will appear in the right hand corner. Drag and drop the Pegman into the street and you'll be greeted by familiar Street View interface.”

Courtesy of the improved search and directions that have been included in the new flavor of the mobile application, users will be able to find what they need easier than before, and get where they want to go.

“Improved directions allow you to visualize step-by-step transit, walk and bike directions in full 3D. New search suggestions save some typing time and easy access to search result list will allow you browse all of the search results in detail with flick of your finger,” Google explains.

Additionally, Android users will enjoy a streamlined interface, which enables them to browse through different layers and use the one they consider best fit.

Through clicking on the Earth logo in top left-hand corner, one can easily access Google Earth layers and enable them, including Panoramio Photos, 3D buildings, and Wikipedia.
