Download Google Chrome Stable 16.0.912.75

Google launched a new beta for their browser, and along with it, a new stable version, incrementing the build number to 16.0.912.75. The latest Google Chrome is available for all supported platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame.

The highlights presented are security related, but other modifications have also been operated. For instance, a problem with displaying the “missing plug-in” message, where a Flash window should have been, has been solved.

Also, the browser now uses HTTPS to retrieve the user profile image and installation of the extensions during synchronization is done from webstore. Default apps are now installed in new profiles only. Closely connected to this is another change: delay some extension startup until after first run import.

One modification, also available in the latest Chrome Dev, is the functioning of webstore installs even if there is not Downloads folder. This allows usage of webstore content by users installing Google Chrome on systems which do not have a download location for such data.
