Google today outed a new Chrome build for beta testers offering fixes for crashes and other reported bugs identified in previous builds. Chrome 36.0.1985.103 Beta is immediately available for download on all supported desktop platforms.

Matthew Yuan, of the Google Chrome development team, announces on the Chrome Releases blog that “The Beta Channel has been updated to 36.0.1985.103 for Windows, Mac and Linux.”

As usual, Yuan notes that “This release fixes a number of crashes and other bugs. A full list of changes is available in the SVN log.” The official changelog mentions intricate issues that only experienced testers can decipher.

For example, the update “fixes remoting_me2me_host to ignore relay policy when nat traversal is disabled.” Another fix is described as follows:

“We currently set a technology to ‘enabling’ even if it is not available. We also enable / disable both Cellular and Wimax on the same UI element since both are never expected to be available. Simple fix is to ignore technologies that are not available.”

You can download and use Chrome 36 beta for testing purposes on any Mac, Windows, or Linux PC with at least 512MB or RAM installed and around 200MB of free disk space. It’s not recommended to use the browser in a work environment, as it’s unreliable. For work-related tasks, grab the latest Stable build (Chrome 35).
