Two new releases of Google’s open source browser are now available for download both for end users and for early adopters, with the search giant living up to its promise to accelerate the pace at which it delivers new Chrome Builds to the public. Google Chrome 7.0.517.41 has been released through both the Stable and the Beta Channels. The Mountain View-based company informs that Build 7.0.517.41 is offered to users running Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

While Google indeed promised an accelerated release pace for Chrome in order to bring new features to users as fast as possible, customers will undoubtedly notice that the list of new additions to version 7.0.517.41 is rather slim.

The company did emphasize that it fixed an impressive volume of issues that identified in the previous versions of the open source browser.

A member of the Google team notes that hundreds of bugs have been resolved with the delivery of Google Chrome 7.0.517.41 Beta and Stable. Still, a specific number of problems or of fixes wasn’t provided.

“In this stable release, we’ve focused primarily on hundreds of bug fixes,” revealed Jeff Chang, Product Manager.

“We’ve also included a few other things that may be of interest to developers, such as full AppleScript support on Mac OS X for UI automation and implementation of the HTML5 parsing algorithm, the File API, and directory upload (via <input type="file" webkitdirectory>).

“Also, if you choose to block sites from setting any data in your browser’s content settings for cookies, you can now use a new dialog for managing blocked cookies in bulk.”

At the same time, Google Chrome 7.0.517.41 brings to the table patches for a number of security vulnerabilities.

Over 10 security holes in Chrome were plugged with the advent of Build 7.0.517.41, with half the vulnerabilities presenting a high level of risk to users.

This is why, current users of Chrome are advised to upgrade to version 7.0.517.41 Stable as soon as possible, with early adopters running the Beta development milestone needing to make the jump to 7.0.517.41 Beta as well.

“Not long ago, we mentioned that we’d be releasing a new stable version of Google Chrome approximately every six weeks to get bug fixes, improvements, and new features in the hands of our users quickly in the spirit of speedy innovation.

“With that in mind, we’re happy to bring you a new stable version of Google Chrome [on October 19th],” Chang added.
