The problem, yet to be fixed, affects Mac OS X and Linux builds of Chrome, according to Google’s blogger.

“The Dev channel has been updated to 6.0.472.11 for all platforms,” Kersey writes.

“This release contains - UI tweaks and clean up - Additional stability fixes

Known Issues - PDF plugin does not load on Linux (Issue 49702) and Mac (Issue 49800),” reads Kersey's blog post. As usual, Google notes that more details about additional changes can be found in the svn log of all revisions.

A note about this Chrome release

Google Chrome is a free and easy to use browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, easier and safer. This release is not appropriate for general consumer use. Several features are unavailable at this time. "Download this only if you are a developer or take great pleasure in incomplete, unpredictable, and potentially crashing software," the Chrome development team stresses.

Earlier this week, Google rolled out the latest stable version of its WebKit-based browser. The changelog consisted of “security fixes and rewards.” In the blog post confirming the new release, the same Kersey encouraged fans of the application to review the latest fixes, as well as to see the Chromium security page for more details.

“Aside from the listed security bugs fixed in Chromium, we have also deployed workarounds for two critical vulnerabilities where the root cause lies in external components,” Kersey said. “Credit and $1337 to Marc Schoenefeld for enabling us to work around a Windows kernel bug. Credit and $1337 to Simon Berry-Byrne for enabling us to workaround a glibc bug,” he added.
