Google has just rolled out an updated version of the developer Chrome build, thus providing those who'd like to try out the next stable release of the browser the chance to do it a bit earlier.

Basically, Google Chrome 36.0.1985.5 Dev only comprises bug fixes and performance improvements over the previous builds, so no new features or any other major changes are part of this version. Still, everyone running the developer flavor of the browser is recommended to update as soon as possible.

According to the official release notes, the new Chrome build “introduces a new framework for back-and-forth tracked preference migration between Protected Preferences and unprotected Preferences,” while also fixing some issues affecting a number of under-the-hood functions.

Just as expected, the new dev build of Chrome is available on all supported platforms, including Windows, Linux and Mac. What's more, it also works on Windows XP, the old version of Windows that reached end of life on April 8 and no longer receives updates and security patches from Microsoft.

Overall, this update should come in handy to all those who are planning to try out the new version of Chrome right now, so use the download links below to get the package that works on your computer.
