Windows and Mac users get security fixes, Linux release to follow soon

The latest stable version of Google Chrome has been deployed for Mac OS X and Windows systems, with a Linux-compatible build soon to follow, the search giant announced minutes ago.

Anthony Laforge makes the introductions over at the Google Chrome Releases blog: “The Stable Channel has been updated to 33.0.1750.149 for Windows and Mac (Linux will be available shortly).”

Since the version number hasn’t gone up too many notches (meaning it’s still in the 33 branch), you might have already guessed that this is a security release.

Case in point, Laforge reports, “This update includes 7 security fixes.” As usual, the post includes a few highlighted fixes that were “either contributed by external researchers or particularly interesting.” Those interested in seeing the full set of bugs are invited to step into the Chromium realm and glance at the official security page for Chrome 33.0.1750.149.

No new features or anything too exciting this time around, but I’d highly recommend that you grab this update if you know what’s good for you. If you’re the type who carries out online transactions on a regular basis, or usually falls for online scams, it’s best if you follow my orders blindly.
