Google has released the third update to Chrome 14 since this version of the open source browser hit the Beta development milestone.

Google Chrome 14.0.835.109 Beta is now available for download for early adopters testing the browser on Windows, Mac OS X or Linux.

The next major version of Chrome is only designed to be run in testing environments at this point in time, hence the Beta label, and end users need to run Chrome 13 Stable.

Speaking of which, earlier this week, the Mountain View-based search giant also updated the Stable Channel for Chrome.

Windows, Mac OS X and Linux users can download Chrome 13.0.782.215, and the fact is that they’d better.

While it introduces no new features or functionality, Chrome 13.0.782.215 Stable is extremely important because it qualifies as a security update.

The release introduces patches for a number of vulnerabilities, the vast majority of which considered as posing a High security risk to customers. Chrome users need to update to 13.0.782.215 as soon as possible in order to ensure that they’re safe from any potential attacks / exploits.

Customers using Chromebooks (Acer AC700, Samsung Series 5, and Cr-48) should make the jump to Chrome 13.0.782.216 (Platform version: 587.126) which contains the same set of patches as Chrome 13.0.782.215.

Testers accustomed to running pre-release software have the option to test the new improvements packed into Chrome 14.0.835.109 Beta.

According to Google, the latest Chrome 14 Beta update sports a boost in reliability. The search giant has dealt with a range of bugs that impacted stability, and in this regard, the fixes should provide an improved user experience for testers.

At the same time, early adopters continue to have the option of testing Dev Channel releases of Google’s browser. The company is offering an early taste of Chrome 15, the next next version of Chrome.
