Google has launched new versions of Chrome for all channels and supported platforms, including Mac OS X. Mac users get both a developer release, which focuses on fixing a number of bugs, and a new stable release, which blacklists a small number of HTTPS certificates.

Promoted to version 11.0.696.14 for Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and Chrome Frame platforms, this Dev channel update is covered by Karen Grunberg on the Chrome Releases blog, with the Google staffer noting some important bug fixes.

Those include “about:gpu can still launch GPU process even though GPU is blocked by software rendering list”, and “app context-menu doesn't disappear even after uninstalling the extension, causes crash when selected”.

A known crash is listed - Fails SPDY-related check.

A regression too is present in Dev builds of Chrome. According to the release notes, the Restore infobar shows up everytime users open a link from external app, after a crash.

On the Stable front, Jason Kersey too is proud to introduce new versions of Chrome for Mac, Windows, Linux and Chrome Frame.

Version 10.0.648.151 is, in fact, the current designation for both the Stable and Beta channels.

“The Chrome Stable and Beta channels have been updated to 10.0.648.151 for Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame,” Kersey blogs for Google.

“This release blacklists a small number of HTTPS certificates,” he outlines.

As usual, Google’s staffer encourages those who play around with Chrome to report any issues they may come across during their web browsing sessions.

Mac users looking to run Chrome are required Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or later and an Intel processor.
