Two new releases of Google Chrome are available for download through the Stable and Dev Channels, respectively.

In less than a week after Chrome 9.0 graduated from Beta, the latest major iteration of Google’s open source browser received its first update.

Chrome 9.0.597.94 Stable, which was released for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, brings to the table a new version of the Adobe Flash plug-in as well as a few security patches.

End users should upgrade to Chrome 9.0.597.94 Stable as soon as possible in order to leverage an updated version of Flash (v.10.2) as well as ensure that their browsers are safe against any potential exploits.

The Flash refresh itself is a security update, but Chrome 9.0.597.94 also patches a number of security vulnerabilities in the first Stable release of Chrome 9.0, and as such is a must-have update to existing users.

Google Chrome 10.0.648.45 Dev, also available for all supported platforms: Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, features the same Flash 10.2 update as the release that is being served to end users through the Stable Channel.

However, Chrome 10.0.648.45 Dev is designed to offer early adopters additional improvements on top of bug fixes, including resolves for a range of crashes, according to the Mountain View-based search giant.

Google has updated the JavaScript rendering engine for Chrome 10, with V8 now at 3.0.12.12.

But testers will be able to notice additional improvements, especially around background applications and additional settings UI cleanup.

With Chrome 9.0 now available to the public, it’s only a matter of time before the first beta development milestone of version 10.0 will be offered to testers.

Early adopters can expect that Chrome 11.0 Dev to be released as Chrome 10.0 Beta will make its debut.
