Almost every major iOS developer has ousted a software update to adjust the graphics of their applications for the new Apple smartphone – the iPhone 5. Google is amongst them.Several standalone services from the Mountain View search giant are now available on the Apple App Store, including Gmail, the handy email application for people who don’t care much for the built-in iOS Mail application.
With the Gmail iOS app you can receive notifications for new messages on both iPhone and iPad, read your mail with threaded conversations, and organize your mail by archiving, labeling, starring, deleting, and even reporting spam.
The software further enables users to keep track of important messages with priority inbox, send and receive attachments, search through mail, and even offers to auto-complete contact names as you type.
The latest version of Gmail for iDevices (1.3.1415) adds support for the 4-inch Retina display of the iPhone 5. For older devices, the application only requires iOS 4.
