Google has just announced a new version of Gmail for Android is now available for download on Google Play store.

The latest version of Gmail allows users to reply, archive or delete messages received directly from notifications area, so there’s no need to open the application anymore. This feature is only available for users who own Jelly Bean devices.

Those with devices powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and up will receive the following changes when updating to the latest version of Gmail:

- Faster search, even when you're offline; - Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Last but not least, devices that run Android 2.2 and up will get new Labels API for 3rd-party app developers, as well as some performance improvements that have yet to be detailed.

Gmail 4.3 is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
