Glu Mobile, one of the most prominent mobile application developers, has announced its new Space City game for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It combines features from Sim City and Rollercoaster Tycoon games and it’s completely free!

Oh, and did we mention it’s 3D with some of the best graphics we’ve seen in the genre?

Not only does it look good, but the controls are phenomenal! You get to pinch to zoom, swipe to move around your asteroid site, and rotate the image instantly using two fingers.

Space City is Glu’s first fully 3D city building game with a galactic spin. We won’t spoil it for you, but we will tell you that players are tasked with colonizing and transforming a “small lonely asteroid” into a “thriving inter-orbit community.”

Knocks the socks off invading other civilizations and taking up their resources, so thumbs up for that Glu!

You get to build restaurants, entertainment and shopping malls and dozens of other venues and building types, in order to build a city that attracts “the galaxy's various exotic inhabitants.”

Visiting aliens will be happy to get jetpacks and flying cars, so don’t forget about those either.

“Each alien visitor comes with unique gameplay benefits, providing a steady flow of incentives for players to continue to build and maintain the most attractive city in the galaxy,” the developer notes.
