With spring well underway all around the globe, the time has come to change the background of your Windows PC’s desktop to reflect the changes Mother Nature is undergoing.

New themes are available for that, put up for download for free from Microsoft. Two of them will bring warmth to your desktops, both packing images from Nick Boyer.

We’re referring to Garden Seasons and Light and Dark themes that the software company has made available for download for all users of Windows 7 out there.

“Fresh as the spring even as they evoke a faded antique world, the photos of Nick Boyer feature birds, bees, and delicately textured flower petals,” Microsoft describes the Garden Seasons theme.

Of course, winter is still present in some areas, but it should not be too long before it's over, and the imagery coming from Boyer is certain to remind users of that.

Moreover, if you do like the season but you feel overwhelmed by flowers and trees in blossom, you can choose to download and install the second new free theme featuring photos from the same artist, namely Light and Dark.

It will still deliver a taste of spring and bloom, but will alternate bright images with filtered, darker ones.

“A doe startled in a grove of flowering trees. Translucent flower petals backlit by a brilliant sun. A night sky thick with stars and galaxies. Rediscover the natural world as a place of mysterious beauty in this free Windows 7 theme of photos by Nick Boyer,” Microsoft notes.

The Redmond-based software giant notes that these themes were meant for computers running Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate editions.

However, they should work just fine on Windows 8 Consumer Preview-based machines as well, just as other themes released before them did.
