Microsoft is moving onward not only with the evolution of its Windows client operating systems, Windows 7 and Windows Vista Service Pack 2, but also with its cloud platform introduced in the fall of 2008. At the same time, keeping up the pace with the development of Windows Azure, the Redmond company is aiming to ensure that developers are ready to embrace its new Cloud operating system. In this regard, the software giant has been offering the Azure Services Training Kit, a collection of resources put together in order to lend a helping hand to developers when it comes down to understanding the potential of Azure Services Platform. On February 11, 2009, the latest version of the Azure Services Training Kit became available for download.

“The Azure Services Training Kit includes a comprehensive set of technical content including hands-on labs, presentations, and demos that are designed to help you learn how to use the Azure Services Platform,” revealed Keith Combs, Microsoft evangelist. “The February release includes the following updates: 19 demo scripts that walkthrough several of the services; 10 presentations covering the entire Azure Services Platform; 3 additional hands-on labs for Live Services. This technical content covers services including: Windows Azure, .NET Services, SQL Services, and Live Services.”

The Azure Services Training Kit February 2009 update comes to complement the release of Windows Azure Software Development Kit (January 2009 CTP) in mid-January. Users need only to grab the training kit and run the self-extracting executable. All the content of the kit will subsequently be extracted to the local machine. Access to the resources is streamlined via the default browser, Microsoft revealed. The Redmond company introduced Windows Azure at the end of October 2008. Azure is nothing more than development, hosting, and management environment associated with the Azure Services Platform, allowing developers to build web-based applications and services.
