A free resource from Microsoft is designed to help customers get the most from their Windows Intune trial. Windows Intune was launched on March 23rd, at which point the new Cloud PC management and security offering became available in no less than 35 countries.

With Windows Intune live, the software giant also launched a 30-day trial option for the service, provided free of charge.

The Windows Intune Trial Guide is an excellent resource set up to cater to customers that want to take the Cloud PC management service out for a spin. It can be accessed on the Microsoft Download Center.

“This document is designed to help you setup your new Windows Intune environment and evaluate the main features of Windows Intune,” Microsoft stated.

“To help in this, we have created an example environment for a business called Coho Winery. Throughout this paper you will see example screenshots taken from this environment to help illustrate how you can similarly configure your Windows Intune environment.

“Subsequently, you can take the steps we have documented to create and customize them to meet your own business needs.”

I have rarely been so excited about a Microsoft offering for business customers as I am for Windows Intune.

This service provides companies with anywhere between 1 and 20,000 computers with a PC management and security service running on Microsoft’s server farms at just $11 per PC per month.

Of course, customers with over 20,000 PCs can simply add a new Windows Intune account to manage the machines that are not covered by a single account.

“This guide has taken you through some of the key tasks you can perform to setup and manage your computers during your trial period with the Windows Intune cloud service. We hope you find your trial valuable,” Microsoft added.

“With a paid subscription to Windows Intune, you will also get access to upgrade rights to Windows 7 Enterprise and future version of Windows.”
